Your best team
|
Been a bizarre few months with west ham. If you'd have said before the window wed have ended up with the squad we did on the first day you'd probably be very happy with it. Then there was the Carvalho rubbish, the fact Lanzini has again been injured, jury out on Arnautovic, the renaissance of Masuaku and the continuous change of formation. Not to mention a manager that knows he's skating on very thin ice.
So what would be your best team. You'd imagine everyone is fit for Burnley.
Hart
Zab Fonte Reid Cresswell
Kouyate Obiang
Lanzini
Sakho Hernandez Antonio
Bench: Adrian Ogbonna Masuaku Noble Ayew Arnautovic Carroll
Sakho looked fit and hungry when he came on. You forget how good he was when he was up for it. I think Antonios place is also up for grabs, he was average at best on Saturday.

Interesting post. No I was very unhappy, for the simple reason we naused the MF situation yet spent a club record upon an at best mardy yet mercurial talent
Our buys reflect your team selection - too much FIFA and not enough pragmatism, square pegs round holes
Play that side and we will be over run by Hendrick and co, a properly managed club whose total exceeds the sum of their parts

You could swap one of the forwards for Obiang but Burnley (and Brighton) are extremely negative even at home.

Another option that probably looks stronger means dropping Antonio if he doesn't fancy right wing back. It was noticeable how often Fonte was the spare man when we had three at the back. Zabaleta would not only use the ball better but add a huge amount of steel to the defensive midfield area. He also spent time in this role for City last year.

Antonio’s place up for grabs you say? Didn’t you have a bit of an inside track on the carvalho deal Wendel? Do you know somet we don’t?

I'm starting to wonder if this would be Bilic's best team/formations:
Hart Zabaletta Fonte Reid Masuako Obiang Antonio Lanzini Arnautovic Sahko Herandez
Bypass the midfield, and just get it up to those 5 to do some damage.

------------------------- Hart Zab ---------- Reid -------- Ogbonna -- Cresswell ------------------------- Rice Antonio ----------- Lanzini -------- Masuaka -----------------Sakho ----- Hernandez
Subs: Adrian Byram Fonte Kouyate Obiang Anautovic Carroll
I know it's asking a lot of Rice but I'd like to see how he gets on. Would have liked to have seen Carvelho in that role!

A starting XI WITHOUT Cresswell, Noble, Ayew and Carroll.
A starting XI WITH Zabaleta, Lanzini, Sakho and Hernandez.

We are still trying to find our best team
When we play well for 3 games on the trot with the same team then that is our best team

Rosall, I agree. We are waiting to see how a team that contains the likes of Hernandez and Sakho, with Lanzini feeding them, performs. Ironically at a time when we look like having sufficient front men to cope with an absent Carroll the bugger stays fit for selection.

4-1-3-2 when we have the ball.
4-4-2 without possesion with Lanzini dropping beside Obiang having Antonio and Arnautovic drop to help too.

Agreed that team probably wouldn't hold up defensively as we don't have the personnel.
But it's interesting that we are all naming different teams, Slav is probably reading this for tips as after nearly 3 years he doesn't know his best team either.

Eerie - You will of course have your answers, but to me it makes no sense at all that you would have Kouyate at CB who you believe is absolutely shit in midfield, yet you think he's good enough to play as a CB in today's premier league. You will never convince me of any possible logic.
